How To Use $250 Southwest Travel Gift Cards?
1. Locate the Card Details
You will need two pieces of information from your gift card:
16-Digit Card Number: This is the main number of the card.
4-Digit Security Code (PIN): This is usually found under a scratch-off or on the email for eGift Cards.
2. Book Your Flight Online
You can redeem the card on the Southwest website or the mobile apps (for the initial flight booking).
Search & Select: Go to Southwest.com and search for the flight you want to book. Select your dates, flight, and fare type (Wanna Get Away, Anytime, or Business Select).
Proceed to Payment: Continue through the passenger information pages until you reach the Payment section of the checkout page.
Apply Travel Funds: Look for the section titled something like “Apply Travel Funds,” “Apply LUV Vouchers, Gift Cards, and Flight Credits,” or similar text. Click on the option to expand it.
Enter Card Information:
Select “Southwest Gift Card.”
Enter the 16-digit Card Number.
Enter the 4-digit Security Code (PIN).
Click “Apply Funds.”
3. Finalize Your Purchase
Full Payment: If the total cost of your flight (including taxes and fees) is less than $250, the entire fare will be covered, and the remaining balance will stay on your gift card for future use.
Partial Payment: If the total cost is more than $250, the full $250 will be deducted, and you will need to pay the remaining balance using a credit card, PayPal, or other accepted payment method.
Tip on Multiple Cards: If you had more gift cards, Southwest allows you to use a maximum of three (3) Southwest Gift Cards per passenger on each reservation when booking online.
Where You Cannot Use the Card:
While the gift card can pay for the flight cost, taxes, and government fees, there are some optional items you generally cannot use it for:
Vacation Packages: Getaways by Southwest™ packages.
Ancillary Fees: EarlyBird Check-In®, Upgraded Boarding at the airport, Pet Fares, or Unaccompanied Minor service charges.
In-flight Purchases (like Wi-Fi or drinks).
If you have trouble redeeming it online, you can also use your gift card by calling Southwest Reservations at 1-800-I-FLY-SWA (1-800-435-9792) or by presenting it at a Southwest Airlines ticket counter.
