How To Use $100 Costco Gift Cards?
A $100 Costco Gift Card (officially called a Costco Shop Card) is unique because it doubles as a temporary pass, allowing you to shop at Costco even if you aren’t a member.1
Here is exactly how to use it, whether you have a membership or not.
1. How to Use In-Store (Warehouse)
You can use your card for groceries, electronics, furniture, or gas.
Entry: Show the physical or digital card to the employee at the front door.2 They will let you inside without a membership card.3
Checkout: * Members: Simply scan your membership card first, then swipe the Shop Card as your payment.
Non-Members: Tell the cashier you are paying with a Shop Card. They will enter a generic code (usually
#99) to process your order.
Gas Station: You can use a physical Shop Card at the pump.4 Note that most Costco gas stations do not accept digital (email) cards unless an attendant is there to assist you.

2. How to Use Online (Costco.com)
Go to Costco.com and add items to your cart.
At checkout, look for the Payment Method section.
Select Costco Shop Card.
Enter the 16-digit card number and the 4-digit PIN (found under the silver scratch-off on physical cards or in your email for digital ones).
Note: Non-members can shop online but are usually charged a 5% surcharge on most items.
3. Important Rules to Know
| Rule | Detail |
| No Expiration | The balance never expires and there are no inactivity fees. |
| Overspending | If your total is $120 and your card has $100, you can pay the remaining $20 with Cash or a Debit/Visa card. |
| Non-Reloadable | If you are a non-member, you cannot add more money to the card once it hits $0. Only members can reload them. |
| Exclusions | You generally cannot use Shop Cards at the Food Court kiosks or for same-day delivery through Instacart. |
